jQuery.noConflict – Resolving conflicts with other javascript libraries that use $() function

One of the reasons that make a software popular is its extensions and plugins. jQuery has plenty of plugins that do almost anything you want, from simple button hide to full blown galleries. Plugins let non developers easily add functionality they need to their websites and there are times when one might include more than one javascript library such as prototype.js, YUI or mootools with jQuery. They all use $ as their main function name. Including second library might brake the behavior of the first one. To resolve such cases jQuery introduces .noConflict() method.

When you call .noConflict() jQuery will return $() to it’s previous owner and you will need to use jQuery() instead of shorthand $() function.

You can also use the following code snippets to still use $() in your code, but with one drawback, you will not have access to your other library’s $() method.

TIP:
Don’t forget that you can always assign jQuery to any other variable name to use it as your shorthand: var $_ = jQuery;

First Working mysql Script Using Cake php

At first change the database configuration for your cake php project.
That is edit your file cake\app\config\database.php

Note that the file extension in the views directory should be .ctp other wise it will not run.

CakePHP: Hello, CakePHP!

CakePHP is an MVC framework. Model, view, controller are the main components. Generally speaking, the model is an object and is used to operate database. You should employ it to communicate with database, like inserting, deleting, querying. The view is as its name. It is used to display the result. Usually it contains lots of HTML but few PHP code. The controller is employed to handle HTTP requests and do some logic. The controller is central in an MVC pattern. It calls the model to get data from database, then do some work, and sends the result to a view to display.

Let’s have a look at CakePHP. I will use CakePHP to write a “hello world” program. My CakePHP is located in D:\xampplite\htdocs\cake. In it there are four directories: app, cake, docs, vendors. “app” is the working directory where we should save our code. Now let’s write some codes. Save this file as testers_controller.php in the folder ex:
D:\xampp\htdocs\cake_1.2.5\app\controllers\testers_controller.php
Note that when we run this file from browser then we run this file as http://localhost/cake_1.2.5/testers this will run normally the index function. IF we want to run the sayhello function then we have to write as http://localhost/cake_1.2.5/testers/sayHello

As you see, the name of the controller class is TestersController. i.e. The controller’s name is Testers. According to the CakePHP convention, the controller’s name should be plural form. You must save it as “testers_controller” in app\controllers so that CakePHP can find the controller class.

Before you run it, please make sure that mod_rewrite is on. Check your Apache http.conf, find the line like “LoadModule rewrite_module modules/mod_rewrite.so”. If it is commented, just uncomment it (remove “#”). Now start or restart (if you modified http.conf) Apache server. Enter http://localhost/cake/testers/sayHello
in your browser’s address bar. You can see the result if no problem happens:

N:B: If we do not set the appache in mod_rewrite (i.e uncomment the line “#LoadModule rewrite_module modules/mod_rewrite.so” then u will get error.

: Problem in run cake php first time

If you make appache in mod_rewrite then you will run successfully.

: Succesfully run cake php
